I was born and raised in Doncaster, South Yorkshire. I lived in London for 4 years until recently when I moved to Selby, North Yorkshire. I am available for gigs around Yorkshire and across the country. Are you prepared to travel?
Yes! I perform at many venues all across the UK. I'm not afraid of flying or sailing either- performances anywhere in the world can be madepossible!
What makes you different from other wartime performers in the UK?
I am passionate about the 1940's era and this is apparent when I perform. I have been a ww2 enthusiast since the age of 10 and I have researched the music and fashions of the era extensively, My vintage wardrobe is over-flowing with original garments and quite exquisite peices of historical fashion that I have been collecting for 10 years now. I am also very lucky to have been trained by wonderfully talented vocal and acting coaches throughout my early years. I was classically trained and also sang in choirs which now enables me to sing a wide range of vocal styles from classic to swing to modern day pop and has given me a good ear for dynamics, diction and tone. This makes for a show where every song sounds different to the last! I love what I do and I've worked hard to make my show as authentic, fun and varied as possible for the audiences enjoyment.
Do you have your own equipment?
Yes! I only use the best in up-to-date sound technology. With help from my sound engineer with over 20 years experience in the industry at professional level and regular trips to Electro Music sound equipment store I can comfortably sound an audience of large proportions! I use high-tech equipment including: *Shure 55SH Series II Microphone *2 x EV SX300 Speakers *Yamaha EMX5014C Powered Mixing Desk *LD Systems MEI 1000X Wireless in-Ear Monitor System *Shure SE315 Sound Isolating In Ear Monitor Earphones
Are you covered by Public Liability Insurance and PAT testing?
Yes. I am fully insured and can provide the relevant certificates and I have all of my equipment PAT tested annually and I display the stickers to show this too. I also have risk assessment documents available on request.
Howlong can you sing for?
I have over 2 hours of 1940's material and I generally sing for 30 minutes at a time. At a typical evening dance I sing 3 sets- making 1 hour and a half of entertainment- a little longer if the audience shout for more!! At a daytime event I can sing as much as you wish!
Do you just sing songs from the 1940's?
Although I am most known for my performances at WW2 events, I can also sing songs from all eras since! I have over 1 hour of repetoire of the hits of the 50's & 60's (visit the page listed above for more details!). I also have a extensive material including songs from ABBA, Blondie and current chart hits from Adele, Jessie J and Duffy. I can combine these different sets to create a show that spans over 80 years of musical history for fans of all eras! If you would like me to perform at your special occasion I can learn a particular request for you; just let me know with enough time before the event and I will sing it for you!
